What We Inherited
Six months into a relationship with another agency, this retailer was spending roughly £6,000 a month on Google Ads and averaging just over £9,000 a month in sales. Margins were thin, morale was thinner, and the owner’s exact words were that they could not make it work anymore. The incumbent agency had no next move to offer.
So we asked questions that had not been asked: which product carries the highest margin, which conversions actually move the bottom line, and does this business need scale or efficiency right now?
The answers exposed three faults. Tracking was misaligned with what
the business actually sold. The account structure was broken. And the
campaign goals did not reflect business priorities at all
What We Changed
- Rebuilt the account structure from the ground up.
- Realigned the conversion actions to the products and outcomes that actually carried margin.
- Cleaned up bidding and segmentation so spend concentrated on the profitable end of the range.
OUTCOME
July closed at £16,045, the best month in the business’s history at that point, on a half-month of new management. August produced £147,406 in sales on the same £6,000 of ad spend. The owner had been preparing to shut the operation down.
